Bike & Splash is an energetic camp that teaches participants the basics of trail biking with a bike specialist. Participants will learn how to travel in different types of road safety situations, and go on short trail rides in the beautiful River Valley. Does your pioneer think they have what it takes to survive the elements? Campers will get a taste of John Walter’s do-it-yourself lifestyle as they take a voyageur trip down the North Saskatchewan River, practice building fires for outdoor cooking and navigate using a compass. We’ll top off the week by staying cool at Queen Elizabeth Pool.

Camp-savvy leaders will provide tips and guidance throughout the week so you're ready for the Thursday night camp out. We'll even host a campfire for families so you can show off your new skills. Your child will learn how to be the ultimate camper by preparing camping and wilderness survival skills such as outdoor cooking, fire making, shelter building, and tent set-up. Camp-saavy leaders will provide tips and guidance throughout the week. On Thursday evening, we'll host a campfire program for families and put newly acquired skills to work during an overnight camp-out under the stars. River Valley Programs
Experience the life a child on a pioneer farm. Campers will tend the animals, play traditional games, go for a horse-drawn wagon ride, and make cookies, candy and lemonade - the old-fashion way. The children will get creative with handmade arts and crafts. A week filled with wholesome fun and activities. Mornings geared towards 4 year olds going into first year kindergarten. Afternoons geared towards 5 year olds after 1 year of kindergarten.
Daily living was one continuous adventure on the Edmonton frontier. Campers will walk in the steps of explorers, fur traders and trappers - cooking over an open fire, building (model) tipi's and travois' and tracking animals. Participants will make a plaster cast of an animal track as a take-away, taste freshly baked bannock and complete a 'race of discovery' around the Fort. This camp includes a visit to the 1846 HBC Fort and the John Janzen Nature Centre.
Little Acorns are nuts about nature! Preschoolers will play games, make up adventures and create nature based crafts. Our hope is that, by the end of the week, all Little Acorns will have an increased appreciation and love for everything outdoors! Please note that all participants must be toilet trained and comfortable using the bathroom. Parents/guardians are not required to stay. River Valley Programs
Homesteading in the valley has never been so fun! Campers will explore the museum and surrounding River Valley by making maps, building forts, and searching for signs of local wildlife. We’ll harvest from the gardens, cook outside on the fire and make crafts inspired by nature to take home.
Escape to the Pyramids! The Muttart Conservatory is an amazing place for young people to explore. Our day camps offer exciting opportunities for kids to connect with plants, nature, and more. Located in Edmonton’s beautiful River Valley, campers not only explore the pyramids indoors, but also play games and go on adventures outdoors. Home to plants from across the Earth, visiting the conservatory is like a little trip around the world. We offer themed camps for several age ranges that will keep your child active and engaged with nature during the year.
Every day they had to meet their basic needs with nothing but their wit and bare-hands. Imposing order and civilization on raw wilderness. Sound like fun? Campers will develop orienteering, fire-starting and outdoor cooking skills; as well as practice woodworking and pyrography. An overnight at the 1846 Fort takes place on Thursday, followed by a day of pioneer fun and games.
Scramblers is a climbing-focused camp with an outdoor adventure twist! Your child will go on a series of adventures throughout the River Valley using GPS, slack line, survival skills, and orienteering. They?ll challenge themselves at Vertically Inclined Rock Gym, where they?ll go climbing twice. We?ll finish off the week by completing a series of group challenges. River Valley Programs
It's time to blossom! Sprouts will get their hands dirty in our gardens as they find out about bugs, flowers and what we can grow to eat. We'll play games, take care of the gardens, make crafts inspired by nature and cook on the wood-burning stoves. With the River Valley as our playground, we'll have lots to discover on our daily adventures!
