This level is a final assessment of the strokes for technique and distance(for all strokes Front and Back crawls 100m ea, Elementary Back and Breast strokes 50m and side stroke (25m). Swimmers learn about sun safety, rescue of others from ice and head and feet first surface dives. Endurance is achieved through continuous swims of 500 m.
The Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) program is for all youth interested in being active and enhancing their skills in a fun, high paced environment. JLC members work on their own personal bests in the swimming, lifesaving, fitness, knowledge, leadership and teamwork. This program sets up participants to be successful in the Bronze Medals. Prerequisites: Must be able to complete the Swim to Survive Standard which focuses on basic water survival skills performed in the following sequence: Roll into deep water, tread water for 1 minute and swim 50m.
The Canadian Swim Patrol program provides enriched training for those who want to go higher than the learn to swim programs. Swim Patrol has 3 levels: Rookie, Ranger and Star. These levels continue to improve the participants strokes and provides the skill foundation required to succeed in the Bronze Medals. Prerequisites: Ability to swim
