 Managing My Customer Account

  • Why is my previous log-in and password from eReg.edmonton.ca or previous golf bookings system not working?
    • If you previously had an eReg or online golf account, simply go to the login page of this site and select the link to reset your password. When instructed, provide the email address that you previously used for eReg or to book a golf tee time online.
    • Can't remember the email address you used? Go ahead and select the Create Account option.

  • How do I update the email address the City of Edmonton has on file?
    • First log in to your Move.Learn.Play account; this will bring you to your Account Preferences page. Select Edit Details from the menu on the left and update your personal information as needed.

  • I forgot the password to my Move.Learn.Play account. What are my options?
    • Visit the login page and select the option to reset your password. You'll then shortly receive an email confirming your request and enabling you to reset your password.

  • How long does it take to set up a Move.Learn.Play account?
    • This process is automated and takes just a few minutes.

  • How do I add (or remove) children to my Move.Learn.Play account?
    • Once you log in, you will automatically be brought to your Account Preferences. You can add children under the Families and Groups option found within the left navigation. To remove children from your account, please place this request with our Admissions and Customer Service team at MyAccount@edmonton.ca.

  • Is my credit card information kept on file?
    • The City follows strict cash handling policy and does not store your credit card information on file.

  • How do I deactivate my customer account?

 Memberships

  • What's happened with my current membership?
    • If you are a current member of any of our City of Edmonton Recreation Centres, your membership will remain on hold until June 30, 2021.
    • All memberships will become active as of July 1, 2021.
      • Prior to July 1, you can reactivate your membership by scanning your card with your first reserved visit at a facility.
      • Please note that 2021 pricing will be in effect for reactivated continuous monthly memberships.

  • What is the new membership?
    • We are continuing with the interim monthly membership for $40 per month.
      • They are available for purchase until June 30, 2021.
      • These are valid for use at all reopened recreation centres, in-facility and outdoor group fitness classes and outdoor pools.
      • These memberships are valid for only 30 days.
      • Purchase online or book an appointment to purchase at an admissions desk.

  • I want to keep my membership on hold or cancel it, what do I need to do?
    • Fill out the hold request form to pause your membership for up to 60 days per 12 month period.
      • Vacation holds are always available for annual memberships.
    • If you have an annual or monthly membership, please check your account on MoveLearnPlay.edmonton.ca for information on when your membership will expire once it's reactivated.
    • If you would like to cancel your current membership, please fill out the City of Edmonton Recreation Centre Memberships - Holds and Cancellations form to get a credit on your account or request a refund.

  • If I have problems with your form, how do I get help?
 Entry to a Recreation Centre

  • How do I gain access to a recreation facility?
    • In order to enter a facility, you will need to reserve a time. That can be done by visiting Move Learn Play and clicking on the buy/book now button. It is the only way you can get access to a recreation centre.
    • You will receive an email confirming your booking along with information you’ll need to be aware of before you come to a facility.
      * Note: Those without access to computers, tablets or smartphones can call 311 to register for programs or to book an entry time.

  • What do I do if I need to cancel?
    • You are able to cancel your booking through Move Learn Play. If you reserved a time by calling 311, you will need to call 311 to cancel.

  • How early should I arrive at a recreation centre?
    • Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your reserved time slot for a fitness centre or group fitness activity.

  • What if I’m running a bit late? Will I still be able to get into the facility?
    • Yes, you will still be permitted to enter within your time slot.

  • Can I drop in for an activity in a recreation centre?
    • Drop-in visits are not permitted at this time. We require that you book a time to visit a centre.

  • Will you announce when facilities are full?
    • When a facility is at capacity, there will be no open times available when booking online.

  • Are you tracking people coming into a facility?
    • Alberta Health requires that we track all visitors to recreation centres for the purposes of tracing potential contacts with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

  • How long are time slots for the different activities?
    • Time slots for individual fitness activities are 75 minutes. The length of fitness programs varies.

  • I want to visit both a fitness centre and then a pool. Can I do that with a single booking?
    • You will need to book times for the fitness centre and for the pools.

  • What are the operating hours for facilities?
    • Hours of operation will vary according to facility. Please check Move Learn Play for the operating times for the amenity or activity you want to access.

  • What do I need to know once I’ve booked my time and before I come to the facility?
    • If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please do not visit the facility. We ask that you cancel your booking if you can.
      • Do not visit if you have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days.
      • Do not visit if you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19. Stay home and isolate as per Alberta Health guidelines.
    • When you come to the facility, please show your booking confirmation to the staff member at the front door so we can verify that you have booked a time. That can be done by scanning your membership card or the barcode on your booking receipt.
    • We ask that you come ready for your activity. If you’re going to a fitness centre, then come dressed in fitness attire. Change rooms remain closed at this time.
    • We recommend that you leave valuables at home. Valuables lockers may be available in facilities where physical distancing is possible. Please ensure you wipe down your locker after use, the same that you would a piece of fitness equipment.

 What’s available to use in a facility

  • When recreation centres reopen, what will I be able to do and use in the facility?
    • Fitness centres will be available for public use in the recreation facilities that are reopen. Please visit edmonton.ca/reccentres for information on which facilities are open and what’s available in facilities for use.

  • Will there be any restrictions on activities in fitness centres
    • Fitness centre equipment has been spaced out and the availability of some equipment will be reduced to ensure appropriate distancing between patrons.
    • Items that are not considered safe to share at this point (e.g. TRX, cable attachments with cloth parts, resistance bands, or dynamax balls) have been removed.

  • Will indoor running tracks be available?
    • Indoor tracks will not be available, rather used for spacing out more of the Fitness Centre equipment.

  • Are indoor fitness programs being offered?
    • In facility offerings of Group Fitness Programs will resume once additional restrictions have been lifted. In the meantime, please join our Outdoor Group Fitness and Virtual Group Fitness options.
    • We are offering outdoor group fitness programs at Terwillegar, Clareview, and The Meadows community recreation centres, and Kinsmen Sports Centre. Commonwealth Stadium Group Fitness classes will also resume, exact dates will be announced shortly.
    • There will be 20 people max in each class, and three-metres distancing between each individual. Please register on MoveLearnPlay to register for the course of your choosing. Virtual fitness programs are being offered. Register at Move Learn Play.
    • Personal training services are now available.

  • Are drop-in programs and open gym times available?
    • To adhere to Alberta Health guidelines, there will be no spontaneous/drop-in/open gymnasium times available.

  • What about pools? When do they open?
    • Both indoor and outdoor pools are reopening. For more information, please visit edmonton.ca/reccentres

 Admission to the Edmonton Valley Zoo

  • How do I get tickets to visit the zoo?
    • Tickets are not available at the gate and are being sold online only.
    • Members and Pass Holders must also book tickets online in advance.
    • Tickets are all timed entry.
    • There is a daily attendance limit of 1,820 people (130 tickets per half hour time slot).
    • A maximum of 20 tickets may be purchased per transaction.
    • You will receive an email confirming your booking along with information you’ll need to be aware of before you come to a facility.
    • You will be able to book a time slot up to two weeks in advance.
      * Note: Those without access to computers, tablets or smartphones can call 311 to book tickets

  • How do I book through MoveLearnPlay?
    • Log in before starting any reservations
    • Click ‘Edmonton Valley Zoo’
    • Click ‘Zoo Admissions’ to book a time to visit the zoo if you want to reserve a spot (already have a membership, have LAP, or want to pay for a one-time visit).
    • Click ‘Zoo Memberships’ if you would like to purchase or renew a membership.
    • You will then see all of the available times.
    • To select a time:
      • Enter the date(s) you would like to visit.
      • If on mobile, swipe left until you see ‘book now’
      • Enter the number and types of tickets you would like to book. Members and pass holders should choose that option; your total will be $0. (Your pass will be checked at the gate when you arrive).
      • If you do NOT have a membership, enter in the quantity per pricing unit (eg. 1 Adult, Child, etc)

  • What do I do if I need to cancel?
    • You can view and cancel your upcoming time slot reservations within the "Appointment" section of your MoveLearnPlay account. To cancel an upcoming time slot, select the “cancel” button next to the desired date and time.

  • How early should I arrive?
    • Please arrive during your half hour entry window.

  • What if I'm running a bit late. Will I still be able to get into the facility?
    • You are permitted to enter within your time slot.

  • Can I drop in at the Zoo?

  • What is available at the Zoo?
    • Outdoor areas of the zoo will be open
    • Indoor habitats are currently closed due to provincial health orders
    • The train and carousel rides will remain closed
    • Play structures are open. They are not cleaned or sanitized, so please take the appropriate precautions.
    • There will be no animal talks or programs
    • The Zoo-tique gift shop is open
    • There will be no paper maps available - please download the Edmonton Valley Zoo app from Google Play or the App Store
    • Stroller and scooter rentals will not be available
    • Water bottle fill stations are open but water fountains have been turned off
    • Limited food service options are available - Sandwich and Sons in the Plaza and Moo at the Zoo located at the Urban Farm. There will be no patio seating. Food and drinks must be taken to go. Masks are mandatory except for brief removal when eating or sipping a beverage.
    • All restrooms will be open and cleaned regularly
    • Increased hand sanitizer stations will be available, including at the entrance, exit, and throughout the zoo
 Day Camps

  • What do I need to know about day camps this year during COVID-19?
    • The City of Edmonton adheres to the measures put in place by AHS and our local government. The safety of our participants, parents and staff are our number one priority.
    • If health measures are not followed, expectations will be reviewed with the parent and child.
    • If the health measures are continuously not followed, the child may be removed from our program and sent home.

  • Are the pro shops and clubhouses open?
    • Pro shops are currently open for regular facility hours.
    • Clubhouse access is available for washroom use and food and beverage purchasing only, however we recommend all campers bring their own snacks and lunch.
    • Seating is limited based on AHS restrictions.

  • Is there food and beverage service at any of the facilities where camps are being held?
    • As we cannot guarantee that food services within recreation centres will be open, please ensure your child brings snacks and lunch that do not require a microwave or fridge.
    • Children will not be allowed to share food and drink with other children.

  • Are the bathrooms available?
    • Yes, the bathrooms at each site are managed and cleaned by the City of Edmonton and will be accessible to campers and camp staff.

  • What are some of the operational changes you have made due to COVID-19?
    • We are committed to the health and safety of our participants and staff. There will be increased cleaning of high touch surfaces and washrooms, and our staff are required to complete a daily health screening prior to arriving at work.
    • Based on new camp regulations for the 2021 camp season, we are waiting on guidance from the Alberta government and will update once that information is provided.

  • Are you enforcing physical distancing?
    • Based on the current guidelines, physical distancing will be implemented.
    • In order to maintain physical distancing, please discuss this situation with your child prior to the first day of camp.
    • Failure to observe physical distancing risks closure of the camps.

  • What happens if my child becomes ill during camp?
    • If your child becomes ill while at camp, you will be notified and pick up will be required immediately.
    • We recommend the Alberta Health Services online COVID-19 self-assessment is filled out as soon as possible.
    • We will ensure that a thorough sanitization is completed on any objects or equipment your child may have touched.

  • What happens if another child or camp leader becomes ill during camp?
    • If another child or camp leader becomes ill during camp, pick up will be required immediately.
    • We recommend the Alberta Health Services online COVID-19 self-assessment to be filled out as soon as possible.
    • We will ensure that a thorough sanitization is completed on any objects or equipment they may have touched.

  • Is early registration available for members?
    • Due to the condensed timeline of registration, there will be no early registration for members.

  • Are member rates available?
    • For the summer of 2021, all fees for camps will be offered at the same rate (member and non-member).

  • Are the camps inclusive/accessible?
    • We are committed to providing a great camp experience for all.
    • As you register, you will be asked to fill out paperwork that will help our camp leaders understand your child and make necessary modifications.
    • You may be contacted prior to camp if more information is required.

  • Will I be able to use a Leisure Access Pass to register for camp?
    • Yes, LAP will still be available for day camp registration.

  • Why is the price different this year?
    • The pricing of our camps is reflective of the overall experience your child will have, while also balancing current health restrictions, and guidelines, that have impacts on supplies, and participation.

  • Will camps be indoors and outdoors?
    • Most camps will primarily be outdoors, with a few exceptions, such as City Arts Camps, which require indoor spaces.

  • What should my child bring to camp?
    • We ask that all campers be prepared to participate in outdoor activities, rain or shine.
    • Based on current health restrictions, your child should bring a face mask.
    • Also bring a water bottle, snack, lunch & appropriate, comfortable footwear.
 Our Safety Protocols

  • What are you doing to ensure my safety while I'm in the facility?
    • You must reserve a time slot in order to access a facility to ensure appropriate capacity and physical distancing ca be maintained.
    • Signage will be in place at facilities to help guide you. Staff will also be available to help with directions.
    • Please follow all entry and exit signage at facilities.
    • It is mandatory that patrons and participants wear a mask while in a facility. You can remove it while involved in physcal activity.
    • You are asked to come dressed in your workout clothes.
    • Alberta Health recommends you bring your hand sanitizer with you, but we will have hand sanitizer available in multiple locations throughout the facilities.
    • Please do not gather in common areas inside or outside of facilities.

  • What are you specifically doing for safety in fitness centres and gymnasiums
    • Equipment in fitness centres has been spaced 3-metres apart to comply with physical distancing guidelines.
    • Some equipment will be taken out of use to ensure proper physical distancing.
    • Staff at the facilities will also help by:
      • Directing traffic, ensuring proper user etiquette and thoroughly cleaning equipment before and after use.
      • Working with custodial staff to ensure all high-touch areas and amenities are regularly cleaned.
      • Monitoring physical distancing and the use of masks or face coverings.
      • Educating patrons in all fitness centres and gymnasiums about current COVID-19 guidelines for facilities.
    • Signage throughout facilities will assist with patrons having a safe and enjoyable experience and signage leading into facilities will remind people of the public health guidelines and the need to have a time booked for entry.
    • Additionally, queuing markers and control devices will be in place to assist patrons in maintaining appropriate distances.
    • Masks or face coverings must be worn when moving between equipment.

  • Will bathrooms be available?
    • Yes, bathrooms are available. We remind you to follow Alberta Health guidelines and wash your hands after using bathrooms.

  • What are you specifically doing for safety in pools/aquatic centres?
    • You must book a time to visit an aquatic centre/pool, including outdoor pools.

  • Will hot tubs and steam rooms be open?
    • At this time, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms remain closed.

  • Will locker rooms be available for fitness users?
    • We ask that you arrive at the facility in your workout clothes
    • There will not be change room access for fitness centre or gymnasium users.
    • Valuables lockers may be available in facilities where physical distancing is possible. Please ensure you wipe down your locker after use the same that you would a piece of fitness equipment.

  • Are there limits on how long people can stay in a facility?
    • There will be time limits on how long you can stay in facilities. Individual fitness users can stay up to 75 minutes before you must leave. Group fitness participants can stay for the duration of the program in which you are involved.
    • Everyone must leave the facility once your time has concluded. Please do not gather in common areas inside and outside of facilities and in parking lots.
    • Once you are done, you must leave so that cleaning can take place and to make room for others coming in for their scheduled visits.
